E-004015-18
Question for written answer E-004015-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Philippe Loiseau (ENF)

Subject:  Imports of glyphosate-treated products from Mercosur countries
 Answer in writing

The issue of a ban on glyphosate has recently been debated. French farmers are subject to onerous, binding restrictions in this area, which include a limit of between one to three litres of phytosanitary products per hectare prior to cultivation. In Latin America, however, up to 15 litres of glyphosate per hectare is authorised

What does the Commission intend to do to prevent agricultural products treated with glyphosate in doses that would be prohibited in the European Union from being imported into the EU under the Mercosur Treaty?
