In October 2018, the Commission released a report on the application of EU competition rules to the agricultural sector; this report gave a number of examples of cases examined by the Commission to illustrate what constitutes a breach of EU competition law in the agri sector.
Can the Commission provide data on the number of investigations undertaken against Irish operators in the sector, the number of Irish operators given penalties, the number of complaints from Irish operators concerning British operators, and a list of Irish complaint numbers broken down by issue, such as price fixing or control of supply, and provide an analysis of where Ireland is placed in terms of complaint numbers compared to the rest of the EU?
Can the Commission also provide some illustrative examples of the types of complaints most prevalent from Ireland, in the same format as the aforementioned report?
