1. The Commission has accepted the European Court of Auditors’ (ECA) observations. These will help the Commission in its work with the Member States to ensure better transposition and protect patients’ rights when they seek healthcare in another Member State.

2. The Commission refers the Honourable Member to its detailed replies to the ECA’s recommendations published in the special report of the ECA(1).

3. The ECA and the Commission will agree an action plan with target dates to implement the ECA’s recommendations. Immediate actions include the publication of a toolbox and Manual for Patients to support the work of the National Contact Points(2).
