Question for written answer E-000113/2020
to the Commission
Rule 138
Isabel Wiseler-Lima (PPE)
 Answer in writing
 Subject: Uighurs

Multiple sources have reported that forced labour is common in Chinese detention camps for Uighurs and other Muslim minorities in Xinjiang province.

1. Can the Commission provide details of this forced labour and the companies potentially benefiting from this work?

2. Can it also specify the goods that are produced there, and does it know whether any of them are being exported to the EU?

3. What action does the Commission intend to take in response to this situation if it emerges that such goods have made their way on to the European market?
