 Subject: Coronavirus in the EU

European health authorities should be ready to tackle the new coronavirus if it reaches the EU. Due to the high volume of travel and trade between European countries, there is a significant risk of the disease spreading and national authorities are preparing countermeasures.

Since viruses do not respect national borders, what is the EU doing to complement the Member States’ efforts to prepare for possible outbreaks?
