Air pollution is responsible for hundreds of thousands of premature deaths in the European Union every year, costing society billions of euros.
European regulations relating to air pollution must therefore be strengthened and the Member States must follow them more closely.
- 1.Can the Commission give an overview of the current infringement procedures and state what action it intends to take in response to them?
- 2.Furthermore, how does the Commission intend to encourage the Member States to better comply with the rules in this area, and within what timeframe?
