Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 138
Eugen Tomac
Subject: Impact of Brexit on the situation of Romanian and other European citizens on the UK labour market

The Romanian immigrant community is the second largest in the UK, numbering 450 000, a considerable proportion of a total Romanian population of less than 20 million. In total, there are more than 3.5 million migrants from EU Member States in the UK.

In view of this, UK withdrawal from the European Union gives rise to the following questions:

What Brexit terms have been negotiated by the Commission to protect Romanian and other European workers on the UK labour market?

What support will it give to those choosing to re-enter the EU labour market following Brexit?
