Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 138
Maria Grapini
 Answer in writing
Subject: Support for EU farmers hit by the the COVID-19 pandemic

The combined effect of the coronavirus pandemic and government restrictions in the EU Member States has been to leave markets stripped almost bare. At the same time, farmers are being deprived of outlets and buyers for their produce, leaving them facing bankruptcy. As a result, they have had to shed some of their workforce and their activities have been severely curtailed.

In view of this, what measures will the Commission take to help farmers in all the Member States to overcome this crisis?
