 Subject: President’s political activities in relation to gender equality

Under Article 15 of the Treaty on European Union, the President of the Council is responsible for chairing the Council’s meetings and ‘driving forward its work’. 

In order to do so, the President appoints their own personal office, which includes a Head of Cabinet and political support staff.

1. Will gender equality form part of the President’s personal political activities before the end of his mandate?

2. If it is already part of his personal political activities, could he share some examples?

3. If so, would the he consider designating an advisor for gender equality within his Cabinet?
