 Subject: Implementation of the resolution on fundamental rights of people of African descent

On 26 March 2019 the European Parliament adopted a resolution on fundamental rights of people of African descent in Europe. (1) . In that resolution Parliament acknowledges that the discrimination experienced by people of African descent is structural and that specific policies are needed to address it. 

1. What will the Council do to ensure that Member States implement this resolution quickly and that structural discrimination in the EU is addressed? 

2. What will the Council do to ensure that Member States develop effective national anti-racism strategies in the area of education, housing, health, employment, policing, social services, the justice system and political participation and representation? 

3. What will the Council do to ensure that Member States investigate and record bias motivation for crimes based on race or on national or ethnic origin?
