E-004433/2020
Question for written answer E-004433/2020
to the Commission
Rule 138
Leszek Miller (S&D)
 Answer in writing
Subject: Refusal to grant EU funds to cities in Poland which have established so-called LGBT-free zones

On Tuesday, 28 July, Equality Commissioner Helena Dalli announced that the Commission had rejected funding applications from six Polish cities under the partnership programme as they had adopted homophobic resolutions on the ‘LGBT-free zone’, which the Commission considers to be in breach of the fundamental values of the EU.

These resolutions were strongly condemned by Parliament in a resolution of its own last December (P9_TA(2019)0101), which clearly indicated that they were a manifestation of hate speech by the authorities in the public sphere.

With regard to the above, would you please state which Polish local governments / cities are affected by this decision of the Commission?
