Due to non-compliance with the terms of the EU-Moldova agreement this year, the final disbursement under the macro-financial support programme for the Republic of Moldova has been withheld, effectively making the Moldovan people accountable for the actions of the authorities.

However, digital technology is now making it possible to obtain direct grants, one possibility being for local authorities and small and medium-sized enterprises to access funding through the ECIPES scheme

• 1.Following the withdrawal of macro-financial assistance from the Republic of Moldova, could funding be channelled into ECIPES or a similar scheme under the European micro-finance programme?
• 2.What assistance is the Commission willing to accord the Moldovan people in the event of non-compliance by the authorities?
