On 20 September an enormous five-pointed red star, the indelible symbol of the Communist regime in whose name so many nefarious and unspeakable crimes have been committed, suddenly appeared on a skyscraper in Fiume.

This huge red star, positioned so that it could easily be seen even from a long way away, remained on the top of the skyscraper until 4 October.

The Italian community that used to live in those parts paid a very high price: thousands of innocent victims thrown into the ‘foibe’ Karst cavities and 350 000 Italians who fled into exile, leaving everything in the hands of Tito’s Communists.

This has happened in 2020, the year that Fiume/Rijeka is the 2020 European Capital of Culture, and press sources report that the installation was produced with funds from the European Union.

Furthermore, one year ago (19 September 2019) an EU resolution included the regime of Josip Broz, alias Tito, on the long list of despotic regimes.
