Ms Nathalie Tocci, Special Advisor to VP/HR Borrell on framing the EU’s global strategy, has taken up the role of non-executive independent director at ENI, an Italian multinational oil and gas company registered in the Transparency Register in April 2020, and furthermore sits on two of ENI’s committees.

• 1.On what date and through what individual or institution were the EEAS and the Commission’s administration departments informed about Ms Tocci’s new position as non-executive independent director in ENI and her positions on ENI’s committees?
• 2.Why was Ms Tocci’s Declaration of Activities and VP/HR Borrell’s Statement of Assurance updated, and conditions imposed only in August 2020, four months after Ms Tocci took up her position as independent director at ENI?
