to the Commission
Rule 138
Patrick Breyer (Verts/ALE)
 Answer in writing
Subject: Right to use the internet anonymously or under a pseudonym

Paragraph 13(6) of the German Telemedia Act provides: ‘The service provider shall allow telemedia to be used and paid for anonymously or under a pseudonym to the extent technically possible and reasonable.’

Does the Commission consider this provision to be incompatible with existing EU legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation?
