E-006995/2020
Question for written answer  E-006995/2020
to the Commission
Rule 138
Patrick Breyer (Verts/ALE)
 Answer in writing
Subject: Is Microsoft once again exploiting its dominant position on the operating system market?

For some time now users of Microsoft’s ‘Windows 10’ operating system have once again been receiving persuasive notifications encouraging them to use Microsoft products such as OneDrive, Microsoft Edge and Office 365. These are all accompanied by security information that could create additional uncertainty for inexperienced users. The Commission has already intervened in the past on account of Microsoft having exploited its dominant position on the operating system market. How does the Commission assess the new facts described here and what action will it take in relation to this matter?
