Subject: Written question on data accessibility and harmonisation concerning COVID‑19 vaccination administration, logistics and planning in the Member States

The Member States are currently facing a shortage of vaccines as well as logistical challenges. To achieve herd immunity, all Member States must vaccinate at least 70 % of their populations. The recently activated European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control interactive tracker provides information on the number of people already vaccinated, but in order to have comparable data, all Member States must follow the same standards for transparency.

Does the Commission intend to supplement this map and information on the specific quantities of vaccines reaching the Member States and the shipment calendars to ensure full transparency and better planning at the EU level? Could this monitoring be enhanced with stronger surveillance and larger regional scope based on the Commission’s proposal of 11 November 2020 for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EC) No 851/2004 establishing a European Centre for disease prevention and control (COM(2020)0726)?
