In response to the increasing number of reported cases of abuse in sports around the world, and reflecting a global commitment to try and prevent such cases, there have been calls for a new international entity to be established to help manage cases of abuse of children and vulnerable adults in sport.

To that end, FIFA has publicly announced the launch of a consultation process involving sports organisations, intergovernmental authorities, governments and specialist agencies with the aim of establishing an independent, multi-sport, multi-agency international entity to help manage cases of abuse in sport. The initiative reflects a global commitment to help prevent abuse in sport, to support victims and to prosecute perpetrators.
