Question for written answer  E-002097/2021
to the Council
Rule 138
Patrick Breyer (Verts/ALE)
 Answer in writing
Subject: Financing the EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator

The EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator (EU CTC), appointed 14 years ago, heads a team which currently comprises five national experts seconded from the Member States. They are financed partly by the Member States and partly from the General Secretariat of the Council. The EU CTC can also have recourse to some of the General Secretariat’s services, including for security tasks, media work and logistics.

1. How many staff does the EU CTC currently have, and what individual tasks do they carry out?

2. What facilities and equipment does the EU CTC own, and which services / structures of the Council’s General Secretariat can he call upon in carrying out his tasks?

3. What is the annual cost of the work of the EU CTC, and how is this divided between the Member States and the General Secretariat of the Council?
