Question for written answer  E-002798/2021
to the Commission
Rule 138
Dennis Radtke (PPE)
Subject: Publication backlog concerning the Construction Products Regulation

The Construction Products Regulation aims to create harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products on the European single market. The objective is to remove trade barriers in the single market. It seems, however, that a major publication backlog on the part of the Commission is making the procedure problematic for companies.

Every year this causes considerable additional cross-sectoral costs for Europe’s economy.

1. How will the Commission solve this problem, which threatens the existence of some middle-sized companies, and how extensive is its impact?

2. Is the Commission considering the introduction of temporary certificates?

3. When is the problem of the backlog expected to be resolved?
