Bearing in mind that the author of this question put the following questions to Commissioner Simson during the ITRE committee meeting of 15 July 2021, can the Commission say:

• 1.what role it attaches to low-carbon technologies in the ‘Fit for 55’ package;
• 2.whether provision has been made for any safeguard mechanism for the revision of the targets should the impact of the package be too punitive for businesses and consumers?
