Digital European student card for Erasmus+ students
28.9.2021
Question for written answer E-004418/2021
to the Commission
Rule 138
Gianantonio Da Re (ID)
On 21 September 2021, the Commission announced the launch of the new Erasmus+ app with its embedded student card.
Available in all EU languages and on both Android and iOS, the app will be a one-stop shop where Erasmus students can manage all the administrative tasks relating to their exchange, from browsing the list of possible host institutions to signing their learning agreement once they have decided on their destination.
The digital card will also facilitate access to the services, museums and cultural activities available to students at their host university and in their host country.
In view of the above:
- 1.Can the Commission confirm whether this app and digital card will be fully consistent with EU data protection legislation?
- 2.Does it not think that this initiative should be opened up to all students in Europe, not only those on the Erasmus+ programme?
