The NextGenerationEU programme will eventually be subject to checks by the European Court of Auditors after the funding is disbursed. However, while everything is clear with the ex post controls and audit, there is a lack of transparency surrounding the ex ante controls over the issuance and sale of NextGenerationEU bonds.

Can the Commission clarify which EU institution officially scrutinises the issuance and sale of the NextGenerationEU bonds?
