Rule 138
Christine Anderson (ID)
Turkey, which is a Muslim state, is participating in a number of EU programmes until 2027[1]. It has also joined various EU programmes that will be in operation until 2027. For example, it participates in the Erasmus+ education programme and the EU’s Horizon Europe research programme. Turkey has cooperated with EU countries in previous editions of the programmes. There is a report[2] setting out how the Erdoğan Government promotes the idea of an Islamic subjugation of Europe.
- 1.According to the Commission’s assessment, is Turkey a state that represents European values?
- 2.What added value for the young people involved in the programmes concerned and for the citizens of the Member States does the Commission foresee through cooperation with Turkey in this area?
- 3.How extensive and comprehensive does the European Commission estimate a possible negative impact of the authoritarian Erdoğan Government to be on young people in the context of cooperation?
