Parliamentary question - E-005693/2021(ASW)Parliamentary question

Answer given by Vice-President Šefčovič on behalf of the European Commission

As the Commission pointed out in its reply to Written Question E-001126/2021, the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland provides that the United Kingdom is informed about planned implementation measures relating to the Union acts listed in the annexes to the Protocol and about planned Union acts within the scope of the Protocol.

The United Kingdom may express its views about these planned Union acts in the Joint Consultative Working Group established by the Protocol.

The Joint Consultative Working Group forms part of the overall jointly-agreed governance structure of the Protocol, in addition to the Specialised Committee on the Protocol and the Joint Committee of the Withdrawal Agreement.
