- 1.How does the Commission view the situation on the energy market, and what, in the Commission’s opinion, are the causes of the current energy crisis? What role do the following play in it all: the reduced supply of gas via the Yamal pipeline in Russia, lower production from renewable energy sources, the decision of the French do continue with nuclear power stations, the high CO2 price and the low levels of gas in European storage facilities?
- 2.What are the Commission’s expectations with regard to price developments on the energy market in the coming years and what measures does the Commission envisage, in the context of European cooperation, in order to alleviate to some extent the impact of the crisis on households, SMEs and industry?
- 3.What does the energy crisis say about the climate and energy policies pursued in recent years in the European Union? Have the pillars of security of supply and affordability of energy not been left too much in the hands of the market?
