E-000404/2022
Question for written answer  E-000404/2022
to the Commission
Rule 138
Patrick Breyer (Verts/ALE)
 Answer in writing
 Subject: Anti‑competitive measures by Microsoft

Recent reports show that Microsoft is taking anti‑competitive measures to make it harder to install and use alternative web browsers in Windows. Recent updates to Windows make it hard to change the default browser from Microsoft Edge to another browser, and force many links in Microsoft apps to open in Edge, rather than the user’s default browser.

What actions will the Commission take to tackle this anti‑competitive behaviour?
