Question for written answer  E-000437/2022/rev.1
to the Commission
Rule 138
Asim Ademov (PPE)
 Answer in writing
Subject: Support for the agricultural sector to counter the effects of the crisis sparked by the increase in energy prices in the EU

The crisis sparked by the increase in energy prices in the EU is having a major impact on the agricultural sector, with higher fertiliser prices and higher energy costs for farmers. This is feeding directly into an increase in final output prices and hence food prices, to the detriment of consumers.

Is the Commission providing for the possibility of state aid being notified when this is used to compensate for increased energy prices in agriculture, under what conditions and which Member States have availed of this possibility?

In this respect, could the Commission provide a statement of the state aid for farmers notified by Member States since 1.9.2021, including the conditions applicable to that aid?
