Question for written answer E-000448/2022
to the Commission
Rule 138
Harald Vilimsky (ID), Georg Mayer (ID)
Europe has set itself ambitious climate targets. By 2050, all buildings in the EU are supposed to be climate neutral. The European Commission is now seeking to introduce a renovations directive. The European Commission proposes an obligation to renovate buildings, the energy consumption of which is particularly high. This could cause problems for many owners and landlords and hence for tenants.
- 1.How will the Commission ensure that the costs of construction and, at the same time, the increase in rental prices resulting from higher building costs, do not skyrocket ?
- 2.How will the Commission ensure that any social impact on vulnerable households is mitigated?
- 3.Are uniform efficiency standards planned for the whole of the EU?
