Parliamentary question - E-001246/2022(ASW)Parliamentary question
E-001246/2022(ASW)

Answer given by Mr Reynders on behalf of the European Commission

The Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations (FEMYSO) was a partner in two projects under the Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme, for an overall EU contribution of almost EUR 45,000. The projects, started in 2013 and 2019 respectively, are now finished.

At current date, there is no ongoing project under the REC programme or the newly established Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme, which involves FEMYSO as a beneficiary.

Besides that, the organisation at stake received EUR 119,881 funding from EU education programmes in the framework of the Action Civil society cooperation in the field of youth (Erasmus+ programme). All these projects are now closed.

As elaborated in the Commission’s replies to questions E-006476/2020 and E-001741/2021, the Commission implements the mechanisms provided in the Financial Regulation for the award of funds.

It carries out rigorous selection processes, including several different checks on grant beneficiaries based on objective criteria such as the exclusion criteria or the EU restrictive measures.
