The Croatian Shipbuilding Institute

Question for written answer E-001329/2022
to the Commission
Rule 138
Ivan Vilibor Sinčić (NI)
In the Commission’s answer[1] to my question for written answer on the restructuring of shipyards in Croatia, it mentioned that ‘the annual monitoring of the restructuring period was performed by the independent Croatian Shipbuilding Institute.’
This is not true. The annual monitoring was performed by the Croatian Shipbuilding Corporation[2] based in Zagreb, which is a government‑owned company. I believe you are mixing up the Croatian Shipbuilding Corporation and Brodarski Institute Ltd.[3], which is/was a science and research institute.
- 1.What is the Croatian Shipbuilding Institute?
- 2.What is the address, registration number and legal status of the Croatian Shipbuilding Institute?
- 3.How can the Commission claim it is independent if it is government‑owned?
