According to internal Commission documents published on the Netzpolitik.org portal, ‘the EU is working on a Bitcoin ban’. The ban on trading in or mining cryptocurrencies has apparently been discussed internally at the Commission.

• 1.Does the Commission support trade restrictions on cryptocurrencies, and if so, what considerations are involved?
• 2.Does the Commission support trade restrictions on other energy-intensive goods or services, and if so, what considerations are involved?
