to the Vice-President of the Commission / High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
Rule 138
Mikuláš Peksa (Verts/ALE)
Since Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022, the EU has launched an unprecedented sanctions package against Russia aimed at crippling the Kremlin’s ability to finance the war.
The EU has adopted five packages of sanctions since the start of the war. To understand which Member States are driving the EU sanctions scheme, I would like to ask the Vice‑President of the Commission / High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the following questions:
- 1.How many sanction suggestion lists has the European External Action Service received from Member States since the start of the Russian invasion?
- 2.Has Czechia suggested Russian individuals or entities for the EU sanctions regime?
- 3.Is the European External Action Service exploring ways to make the process of drafting sanction packages more centralised and more efficient?
