Transition to the digital age
1.9.2022
Question for written answer E-002911/2022
to the Commission
Rule 138
Loucas Fourlas (PPE)
Digital technologies are changing the lives of European citizens. The European Union is seeking to achieve a digital transition that is beneficial for individuals and businesses, while at the same time helping to meet its target of a climate-neutral Europe by 2050.
It was recently decided unanimously to make this Europe’s Digital Decade. The EU now needs to set its sights on its own digital sovereignty and steer its own course, rather than following in the wake of others, while clearly focusing on data management, technology and infrastructure.
In view of this:
- 1.How is it planning to contribute to the digital transition?
- 2.What tools and mechanisms will it use to empower European citizens through cutting-edge technologies?
