Libya is setting up a so-called counter-terrorism analytical unit. Following the German model, police authorities and intelligence services are to be brought together under one roof to identify terrorist threats at an early stage. New surveillance technologies are generally also deployed to this end.
- 1.With what IT equipment, software or training is EUBAM Libya supporting the establishment of a Libyan counter-terrorism analytical unit, and for what purpose were experts from Europol or the Member States involved or invited – was it, for instance, to discuss their own analytical units?
- 2.How does the Mission support the Libyan authorities in setting up coordination mechanisms with international actors, and what organisations are concerned?
- 3.Which units of the Libyan Border Guard are being given intelligence training under the auspices of EUBAM Libya and who is providing this training?
