A significant number of Erasmus students intending to study in Belgium have recently cancelled their study semester abroad owing to a lack of affordable housing options. It is becoming increasingly difficult for foreign students, or even teaching staff, to find affordable accommodation, particularly for short periods.

What is the Commission planning to do to ensure that the opportunity and experience offered by the Erasmus programme remains attractive and affordable, especially for the EU’s young citizens?
