The COVID-19 pandemic has once again highlighted the need for additional tests to be conducted to help pinpoint causes of death in post mortems, such as those performed at the Iași Institute of Forensic Medicine in Romania. This dictates that forensic virtopsy be used, for which a complex system comprising a (minimum) 32-slice CT scanner, a virtual autopsy console, and a server for data management and management information protocols has to be purchased.

What sources of funding does the Commission consider the Iași Institute of Forensic Medicine should access in order to do this?
