The Commission has received law nr. 5053/2023 adopted by Greece on 25 September 2023. The law transposes Directive (EU) 2019/1152[1] on Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions.

The verification of the national transposition and its compatibility with the directive on Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions is currently ongoing.

However, since this Greek law also contains new provisions regulating working time and other working conditions, the Commission has to make a full assessment of compliance of the provisions of law nr. 5053/2023 with all applicable EU acquis.

In the light of that assessment the Commission may, in its role as guardian of the Treaties, take any action it deems necessary.
