The Erasmus+ Programme Guide[1] sets clear standards for the protection, health, and safety of participants across all actions. Learning must take place in a safe environment which respects and protects the rights of all persons.
Participating organisations must have in place effective procedures to guarantee the safety, protection, and non-discrimination of the participants in their activities. As of 2024, the Programme’s set of rules regarding respect for EU values has been reinforced.
The Commission has contacted the National Agency in charge of the selection and monitoring of the project[2] to ensure the above-mentioned standards are in place.
The Commission has requested that the National Agency reviews the files and supporting documents, including the application form and the final report.
After revision, the National Agency confirmed that the project activities were considered appropriate and that the rules included in the grant agreement were respected, including parental consent prior to participation in the case of one participant who was 17 years old.
Young people are supported by Erasmus+ in whatever family situation they are. The Erasmus+ Programme Guide also provides guidance to promote equal opportunities and inclusion, diversity, and fairness across all actions .
Moreover, since October 2023, beneficiaries are obliged to report on possible barriers to participation (including those stemming from family circumstances).
