Question for written answer E-001285/2024
to the Commission
Rule 138
Esther Sanz Selva (The Left), Patricia Caro Maya (The Left), Idoia Villanueva Ruiz (The Left)
The public-sector organisation Aena has announced that Valencia-Manises and Alicante-Elche airports are to be extended in order to meet growing traffic demand.
Extending them will affect both noise pollution levels, in breach of Directive 2002/49/EC and Regulation (EU) No 598/2014, and environmental pollution, as it is contrary to the European Green Deal and to a commitment to more sustainable and cleaner transport.
- 1.How will the Commission ensure that Directive 2002/49/EC and Regulation (EU) No 598/2014 are complied with?
- 2.Having regard to the issue at stake, what guarantees does the public have that the European Green Deal will be complied with?
