INTRODUCTION
The European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs is organising a public hearing on "Combating sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography".
The hearing is being organised in connection with a new legislative proposal (currently being debated in the European Parliament) for a Directive of the European Parliament and Council on combating sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography (COM(2010)0094).
The purpose of the hearing is to provide other EU institutions, bodies and agencies, international organisations, NGOs and experts with the opportunity to publicly comment on the mentioned legislative proposal and to voice their opinion to the Members of Parliament.
In detail, the purpose of the hearing is to get a better picture on topics, such as criminal law definitions, penalties, jurisdiction, blocking of web-pages, age of sexual consent and other related issues.

• During the discussion, so as to make it possible for the highest number of parliamentarians to intervene, speaking time will be limited to two minutes per contribution or question.
• Members requesting the floor are kindly asked to inform the chair indicating their name and parliament on a special sheet. The floor will be given to Members in the order in which requests are received, and in turn to two Members of national parliaments, followed by one Member of the European Parliament, and so forth.
