Development of an EU Green Infrastructure (GI) policy

What steps is the Commission taking to develop a Green Infrastructure policy within the timeframe of the next budget envelope 2014 - 2020 as a contribution to achieve the ambitious Europe 2020 objectives and in particular:

-  to make sure that this policy is based on consistent and reliable data allowing to take informed decisions;

-  to make sure that these data are spread at all levels where such decisions are taken i.e. EU, national regional and local authorities;

-  to make sure that this policy will be supported by a EU financing facility;

-  to make sure that  this policy will be still more  integrated into all the relevant EU- policy areas and instruments  which can contribute to the policy objectives.
