The Commission is rethinking the EU’s trade and investment policy in the post-COVID-19 environment to promote a swift and sustainable socio-economic recovery.
- 1.Please describe the aim of the review process and indicate the changes in policy and instruments the Commission already sees as necessary and, if possible, provisional findings of the consultations with stakeholders. How does the Commission envisage achieving the declared goal of sustainable, robust and resilient value chains?
- 2.Will the Commission provide clear indications of the concrete actions planned for implementing the EU’s new trade and investment policy, and the timeline for their foreseeable implementation? This would be an important tool for allowing democratic scrutiny.
- 3.How will the Commission include Parliament’s political priorities and ideas on the EU’s trade and investment policy in the reflection process?
- 4.How will the Commission coordinate its actions on international trade and investment with Member States and major trade partners in order to better equip the EU for future challenges?
- 5.How will the Commission evaluate and then communicate the benefits of the EU’s new trade and investment policy to businesses, workers and consumers?
