The COVID-19 pandemic is having a devastating impact on young people in particular across the EU, harming their employment situation, disrupting their education and affecting their mental and physical health and well-being.

1. Beyond financial support for boosting youth employment, is the Commission planning any more in-depth and systemic policy responses to cushion the more far-reaching negative effects?

2. Will the Commission assess the negative psychosocial impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on young people in the EU, and its consequences for education, labour markets and social cohesion?

Similarly, the COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to have a devastating impact on sport at both professional and grass roots levels.

3. Beyond the general financial instruments adopted by the European Union in response to the crisis, is the Commission considering additional targeted support measures for the sports sector?

4. Will the Commission assess the full extent of the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on professional and grass roots sport?

5. Would the Commission agree to developing a coordinated European approach to cope with the challenges and mitigate the consequences of the pandemic on sports, possibly in the form of a dedicated action plan?
