EU funding for flood relief and the provision of emergency aid

On 15 September 2024, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated on the ‘X’ platform that he had instructed the Polish Minister of European Affairs to request European assistance in view of the need to provide emergency assistance and flood relief in Poland. The aim was to obtain funds from the Cohesion Fund and the Solidarity Fund. In this connection:

• 1.Has Poland already applied for and mobilised the aforementioned funds from the Solidarity Fund? If so, when?
• 2.Has Poland already applied for and mobilised the aforementioned funds from the Cohesion Fund, and are these new funds or allocated under the existing Cohesion Fund envelope?
• 3.If the aforementioned applications have been submitted, have they already been processed? If so, in what amount have they been granted?
