Question for written answer P-4429/2010
to the Commission
Rule 117
Oreste Rossi (EFD)

Subject: The great swine flu con
 Answer in writing

Following the publication of an investigation conducted jointly by the British Medical Journal and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, London, and in addition to the report by the Health Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, there has been a huge amount of criticism of the World Health Organisation with regard to the way it responded to the H1N1 flu pandemic. Many western governments now have unused stocks of vaccines. According to estimates by the bank J.P. Morgan, the turnover has been somewhere between EUR 5.8 billion and EUR 8.2 billion.

That said, does the Commission intend to open an investigation into the British Medical Journal's allegations?
