Question for written answer P-006809-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Adam Gierek (S&D)

Subject:  Instruments of the new industrial policy
 Answer in writing

Globalisation has led to a significant relocation of corporate mass production, and systemic change processes in central and eastern Europe, including unfettered privatisation and hostile takeovers of Polish industry, have caused deep-rooted deindustrialisation, an unprecedented decline in this country’s share of global GDP and mass unemployment. Rapid and modern reindustrialisation is essential in order to raise industry’s share of average EU GDP to 20% by 2020.

What instruments are available under the new EU industrial policy, at national and EU level, and how can they be used to accelerate and effectively implement the necessary processes of reindustrialisation?
