In May 2016, Parliament voted in favour of the INI report on virtual currencies. The report concluded that the technology is still at an early stage and no further regulation is necessary at the moment.

Nevertheless, does the Commission already have any plans for future initiatives related to virtual currencies or blockchain technology?
