A powerful earthquake on the island of Kos yesterday claimed two lives, as well as causing serious injuries and resulting in widespread damage.
It is vital to repair the damage without delay. In view of the Commission assistance received by Italy and the expressions of support for Greece, for the island of Kos and for its inhabitants voiced by President Juncker and his fellow Commissioners:
- 1.Will the Commission will immediately activate the solidarity mechanism for natural disasters and release funding to cover the total damage caused?
- 2.What conditions and deadlines must be met to ensure full financial support from the Commission?
