Question for written answer P-006162-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Kateřina Konečná (GUE/NGL) , Jiří Maštálka (GUE/NGL)

Subject:  I/11 Rudná extension/Opava District boundary project
 Answer in writing

Last year, the Czech Republic negotiated with the Commission a list of priority transport projects and the future approach to be taken in the EIA approval process in the revision of Law No 100/2001 Sb. relating to environmental impact assessment and amending certain relevant Acts (the Environmental Impact Assessment Act), as amended. Originally included in that list was a construction site known as ‘I/11 Prodloužená Rudná, hranice okresu Opava’ (the I/11 Rudná extension/Opava District boundary).

We wish to ask the following questions concerning this project.

1. Is the I/11 Rudná extension/Opava District boundary project part of the TEN-T network of Regulation (EU) No 1315/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2013 on Union guidelines for the development of the trans-European transport network and repealing Decision No 661/2010/EU? (For information, this is a critical transport link under construction on the territory of the city of Ostrava. Under Annex II of this regulation, Ostrava is a node of the TEN-T core network.) 2. Did the Commission agree or not to the I/11 Rudná extension/Opava District boundary site being included in the list of priority transport construction projects? (Please state the reasons for the Commission’s agreement or disagreement.)
